My name is OneGun. I am a retired Law Enforcement Officer from a large agency in southern Arizona. During my career I had the pleasure of working as a full-time firearms instructor. During train the trainers classes I was able to travel to different departments around the state and gain insights from many trainers. After retirement I helped teach firearms at a local community college.
The resource constraints such as time, number of trainers and interference from the bosses was a constant challenge. This and working with a group of fantastic trainers helped me work out my philosophy of efficient fundamental training for the new student. It’s amazing how much training and development we did within the typical training constraints at a modern police department. As civilians we need the same efficiency. I hope the readers of this blog might save some money and time while learning to shoot.
